Clinton, the Cat Superhero

Clinton, the Cat Superhero

Not all heroes wear capes—some have fur and whiskers!

Clinton Spaulding, an otherwise laid-back house cat, transforms into a lifesaving superhero at our emergency hospital, where he's donated blood multiple times to help fellow felines in need.

Recently, a kitten was rushed to AAEC with a dangerously low Packed Cell Volume (PCV) of just 7%. PCV measures the percentage of blood made up of red blood cells, with healthy levels for cats ranging between 25-45%. After receiving a transfusion of Clinton’s blood, the kitten's PCV improved, and she was able to return home to her family.

Low PCV levels indicate anemia, often caused by fleas. Clinton’s advice? Keep your pets flea-free to prevent flea-induced anemia! And of course, "Meow!"
